An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Partner or senior Private Client Solicitor to join a progressive and ambitious law firm in Bath.

This is a senior appointment for someone who wants more than a strong caseload. You will play an important role within the wider leadership team, helping shape the continued development of the private client practice and contributing to the future direction of the firm.

The firm has a strong reputation for providing clear, practical and personal legal advice to individuals, families and business owners. Its private client work covers a broad range of matters including wills, probate, trusts, estate and succession planning, wealth protection and related lifetime planning.

The opportunity

You will take responsibility for a high quality private client caseload while developing trusted, long term relationships with clients and their wider professional advisers.

The role will suit someone who enjoys combining technical legal expertise with commercial thinking, leadership and business development. You will have the opportunity to influence the growth of the practice, identify new opportunities and help develop the service offered to an established and growing client base.

Working closely with the leadership team, you will contribute to wider strategic discussions and play a visible role in the continued development of the firm. This could be particularly attractive to an established Partner looking for greater influence, or a senior Solicitor who is ready to take the next step in their career.

Your responsibilities will include

Managing a sophisticated private client caseload, including wills, probate, trusts, estate planning and succession matters

Advising high net worth individuals, families, business owners and trustees

Building and maintaining strong, trusted client relationships

Developing relationships with accountants, financial advisers, wealth managers and other professional contacts

Identifying and developing new business opportunities

Supporting the continued growth and profile of the private client practice

Providing leadership, support and guidance to colleagues

Contributing to the strategic direction of the firm as part of the wider leadership team

Helping to maintain and develop high standards of client service and technical excellence

Playing an active role in developing the firm’s presence and relationships within the Bath and wider South West market

About you

You will be an experienced Private Client Solicitor with strong technical knowledge and a genuine interest in building long term relationships with clients.

You may already be a Partner, Legal Director or senior Associate, or you may be an experienced private client lawyer ready to take on a broader leadership role.

You will bring sound judgement, commercial awareness and the confidence to build relationships at a senior level. Just as importantly, you will be approachable, collaborative and comfortable working as part of a leadership team.

You will have a genuine interest in developing people and practices as well as your own client portfolio. The ability to spot opportunities, think beyond individual matters and contribute to the wider direction of the business will be important.
