Why did you choose to pursue a career in Recruitment..?
As most people do, I fell into a career in recruitment. Initially specialising in Medical Recruitment and having previous legal experience, the two finally merged. I’ve now been working within Legal Recruitment for a number of years.
Tell us a bit about TSR LEGAL and the kind of work you do ?
At TSR Legal, I’m responsible for our clients and candidates throughout the South West region. I recruit for both business support professionals and fee earning staff, across all practice areas.
I am more than happy to work with firms of all shapes and sizes, be it a sole practitioner seeking a skilled legal secretary, or an international legal business looking to recruit multiple fee earners.
What advice would you give an ambitious Recruitment Consultant at the start of their career?
Get good basic training under your belt, know your industry and find a company that compliments your recruitment style.
What is the biggest achievement you have made at TSR LEGAL?
Well it took several months, but placing a senior level fee earner at an international practice is my biggest achievement to date. It took a lot of time, patience and negotiating but in the end all parties were happy.
Who is the biggest influence on your career and why?
My family. They have always been there to encourage me to achieve my goals and advise me through any decision making.
What’s the most challenging element of your job?
Time Management. There are not enough hours in the day for me at TSR Legal! It’s tricky to multitask sometimes on a busy desk, so it’s quite relieving when recruitment plans and procedures fall into place.
Describe your company in three words?
Specialist. Personable. Reputable
If you could be any person for the day who would it be and why?
It would be a throw up between Nick Broomfield and Louis Theroux whilst filming a juicy documentary. I’m not fussy.
What do you like to do outside the office?
Outside of the office, I like to spend my time with friends and family, going to shows and gigs… also a keen shopaholic and documentary fiend.
