The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of personal injury matters, taking responsibility for files from initial instruction through to settlement or trial.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a caseload of personal injury claims, including employers’ liability, public liability and road traffic accident matters.
• Handling both litigated and non-litigated claims, depending on experience.
• Advising clients on liability, causation, quantum and prospects of success.
• Investigating claims, gathering evidence and obtaining appropriate medical and expert reports.
• Drafting pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss and other relevant legal documentation.
• Instructing counsel and expert witnesses where appropriate.
• Negotiating settlements with insurers and defendant representatives.
• Ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and in accordance with relevant court rules and procedural requirements.
• Providing a high standard of client care and maintaining effective communication throughout the claims process.
• Contributing to the wider development of the department and supporting business development activities where appropriate.

About You

We are keen to hear from qualified Solicitors with experience in personal injury litigation who are looking to develop their careers within a supportive and established legal practice.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience handling a personal injury caseload.
• Good technical knowledge of personal injury litigation and the Civil Procedure Rules.
• Experience dealing with employers’ liability, public liability and/or road traffic accident claims.
• The ability to manage files independently and work effectively to deadlines.
• Strong negotiation, drafting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• A proactive and organised approach, with strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work collaboratively while taking responsibility for your own caseload.
