TSR Legal is delighted to be working with a leading law firm in Cardiff to appoint an Industrial Disease Paralegal into a newly created position within its established specialist team.This role could lead to a Training Contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal looking to develop their career within Industrial Disease and claimant litigation, joining a highly regarded firm at an exciting stage of growth.

The role is based in Central Cardiff, with excellent access to Cardiff Central railway station and local public transport, making it easily accessible for commuters across South Wales.

As this is a new position within the firm, it offers the opportunity to make the role your own, work alongside an established team and play an important part in the continued development of the department.

The Role

Working as part of the Industrial Disease team, you will provide support across a varied claimant caseload, assisting with matters from initial instruction through to settlement or conclusion.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with a caseload of Industrial Disease claims.
• Supporting matters from initial instruction through to resolution.
• Preparing legal documents, correspondence and claim forms.
• Reviewing and organising medical and supporting evidence.
• Liaising with clients, medical professionals, experts, insurers and other third parties.
• Assisting with obtaining relevant documentation and evidence.
• Conducting legal research where required.
• Maintaining accurate and comprehensive case files.
• Monitoring key dates and progressing matters in line with deadlines.
• Assisting with the preparation of cases for hearings and other stages of litigation.
• Keeping clients updated throughout the progression of their claims.
• Providing a high standard of client care.
• Supporting fee earners with the effective management and progression of their caseload.

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, client-focused and keen to develop a long-term career within claimant litigation and Industrial Disease.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant within litigation, Personal Injury or Industrial Disease.
• An understanding of the litigation process.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
• The ability to manage deadlines and prioritise a busy workload.
• Confidence communicating with clients and professional contacts.
• A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of your work.
• Strong IT and administrative skills.
• A genuine interest in developing your technical legal knowledge.
