Family Care Solicitor – 1+ PQE

TSR Legal are seeking a Family Solicitor to join our clients busy and growing Family Law team in Gloucestershire, with a particular focus on public law care proceedings.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work on complex and sensitive children law matters, representing parents, children, and other parties involved in care proceedings. You will play a key role in protecting the rights of vulnerable clients and ensuring the best possible outcomes for children and families.

You will manage your own caseload, working closely with colleagues, counsel, local authorities, and CAFCASS, while also having the opportunity to develop and strengthen your advocacy skills in the Family Court.

The role requires excellent self-management and leadership skills, together with a keen interest in business development.

• Manage a caseload of public law children matters, with a particular focus on care proceedings, providing high-quality legal advice and progressing cases from instruction through to final hearing.
• Represent clients at all stages of proceedings in the Family Court, including case management hearings, interim applications, and contested final hearings.
• Provide clear, empathetic, and robust advice on all aspects of child protection law, including local authority intervention and Children Act 1989 threshold issues.
• Prepare and draft precise and persuasive legal documentation, including statements, position statements, and court bundles.
• Conduct advocacy in the Family Court and work closely with counsel, CAFCASS, local authorities, and other professionals to progress cases effectively.
• Ensure full compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements, regulatory standards, and best practice in client care and file management.
