About the Role

A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employment Solicitor to join a well-established and highly regarded employment team as a Senior Associate.

The firm offers a supportive and commercially focused environment, providing employment advice to an established client base across the private, public and third sectors. The successful solicitor can be based in either Cardiff or Bristol and will benefit from a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employment solicitor who wants to take greater ownership of client relationships, supervise junior colleagues and contribute to the continued development of the department.

The role will involve:

• Managing a broad caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.

• Advising employers on disciplinary and grievance procedures, dismissals, discrimination, redundancies and reorganisations.

• Handling Employment Tribunal proceedings from initial instruction through to final hearing.

• Advising on complex employee relations, whistleblowing, equality and senior-level exits.

• Drafting and negotiating settlement agreements, employment contracts, policies and consultancy agreements.

• Supporting clients with the employment aspects of corporate transactions and organisational change.

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with HR professionals, senior management teams and business owners.

• Delivering training, seminars and employment law updates to clients.

• Supervising and supporting junior solicitors and other members of the team.

• Playing an active role in business development and the future growth of the practice.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Be a qualified solicitor with substantial employment law experience, ideally operating at Senior Associate level.

• Have experience handling both contentious and advisory employment work.

• Be confident managing Employment Tribunal claims and complex employer-led matters.

• Demonstrate strong commercial awareness and excellent client care skills.

• Have experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues.

• Be comfortable developing client relationships and identifying opportunities for additional work.

• Take a proactive and collaborative approach to working across teams and offices.
