Conveyancing Executive | Cheltenham
Non-Fee-Earning Role | Residential Property | Real Estate Finance
TSR Legal is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading Top 50 regional law firm in Cheltenham to recruit a Conveyancing Executive to join its growing Real Estate Finance team.
This is a particularly interesting opportunity for a conveyancer looking to move away from traditional high-volume, target-driven conveyancing and into a role focused on high-quality, technically complex property work.
Importantly, this is a non-fee-earning position, meaning you will not be expected to manage a traditional personal caseload or work to individual billing targets. Instead, you will provide key technical and transactional support across a varied portfolio of Real Estate Finance matters, working alongside an established and collaborative team.
The Opportunity
The Real Estate Finance team works across a broad range of property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, refinancing and development finance, acting for an interesting and diverse client base.
Clients include high street and challenger banks, bridging finance providers, developers, investors and other property professionals.
As a Conveyancing Executive, you will play an important role in supporting transactions from initial instruction through to completion, using your conveyancing knowledge and technical ability to ensure matters progress efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and progressing files with a high degree of autonomy
- Supporting solicitors and fee earners across a varied portfolio of property and finance transactions
- Handling file opening, compliance, administration and billing processes
- Raising, reviewing and responding to property enquiries
- Drafting further enquiries and reviewing replies
- Drafting and amending legal documentation using established precedents and templates
- Preparing contract reports and exchange documentation
- Preparing completion statements and dealing with post-completion requirements
- Liaising proactively with clients, lenders, agents and other third parties
- Undertaking legal research and providing accurate and commercially focused findings
- Supporting the development of junior members of the team, where appropriate
- Assisting with marketing and business development initiatives
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with the firm’s risk management, compliance and GDPR requirements
About You
We are keen to hear from candidates with a strong background in residential or commercial conveyancing who are looking to develop their technical property knowledge within a specialist environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience within residential or commercial conveyancing
- A good understanding of the conveyancing process from instruction through to completion
- Exposure to Real Estate Finance or lender-side work would be highly advantageous
- Strong legal drafting and technical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A commercially aware and proactive approach
- Confidence dealing with clients, lenders, agents and other professional contacts
- Previous experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues would be beneficial
You may currently be working as a Conveyancing Executive, Conveyancer, Property Paralegal or Legal Executive and be looking for an opportunity that provides greater exposure to complex property work without the pressures associated with a traditional fee-earning role.
Why This Role?
Non-fee-earning conveyancing opportunities of this calibre are extremely rare.
This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value and technically interesting property transactions within a highly regarded regional firm, while stepping away from individual billing targets and high-volume personal caseloads.
It could be an excellent fit for someone who enjoys the technical and transactional side of conveyancing but is looking for a more balanced, collaborative and quality-focused working environment.
There is also scope to broaden your knowledge of Real Estate Finance and build a long-term career within a growing specialist team.
Benefits
- Competitive pension scheme
- Staff bonus scheme
- Electric vehicle scheme
- 28 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
- Cycle to work scheme
- Life assurance
- Healthcare cash plan
- Supportive and collaborative working environment
