Commercial Litigation Solicitor – NQ+ – Cardiff / Newport – Up to £50,000 (DOE)

TSR Legal has recently been instructed to assist a well-established South Wales law firm as they look to strengthen their Commercial Litigation offering with the appointment of an additional Solicitor across their Cardiff and Newport offices.

Our client has a strong presence across South Wales and has built an excellent reputation for providing commercial and practical legal advice to businesses, organisations and individuals throughout the region. The firm continues to invest in its contentious offering and is now looking to add another ambitious lawyer to its growing litigation team.

The opportunity would suit a Newly Qualified Solicitor looking to build their career within Commercial Litigation, as well as a more experienced junior solicitor who is looking for greater exposure to varied disputes, increased responsibility and the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators.

As a Commercial Litigation Solicitor within the department, you will gain exposure to a broad range of contentious matters which may include contractual and shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, professional negligence, property-related disputes, debt recovery and general commercial litigation.

You will be involved in matters from initial instruction through to resolution, including advising clients on strategy, drafting correspondence and pleadings, dealing with disclosure and witness evidence, liaising with counsel and experts and progressing matters through negotiation, mediation and Court proceedings where required.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules together with excellent drafting, analytical and client-care skills. At the more junior end, you will receive support and supervision as you develop your caseload, while more experienced solicitors will be encouraged to take greater ownership of matters and develop direct relationships with clients.

The firm is particularly keen to speak with commercially minded litigators who enjoy varied work and want to become part of an established South Wales team where there is genuine scope for long-term progression.

The role can be based in Cardiff or Newport and offers a salary of up to £50,000 depending on experience.
