Associate/Senior Associate Pensions Solicitor – 5+ PQE

TSR Legal are currently working with a highly regarded national law who are looking to recruit an experienced Pensions Solicitor to join the highly regarded Pensions team in London.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of one of the leading pensions practices in the UK, working alongside recognised specialists on a broad range of complex, high-value and strategically important matters. The team advises an impressive client base, including major employers, pension scheme trustees, insurers, financial institutions and public sector organisations. With an established reputation for technical excellence and commercially focused advice, the practice offers exposure to some of the most significant developments and transactions within the pensions market.

You will work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers, taking responsibility for sophisticated client matters while developing your own profile and contributing to the continued success of the practice.

The Role

You will advise on a varied and challenging range of pensions matters, which may include:

• Advising trustees, employers and corporate sponsors on the full spectrum of pensions issues.
• Providing strategic advice on defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) pension schemes.
• Supporting clients with scheme restructuring, benefit changes, closures to future accrual and governance matters.
• Advising on pensions aspects of corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, refinancing and business reorganisations.
• Working on complex pensions risk transfer projects, including buy-ins, buy-outs and de-risking exercises.
• Advising on pensions regulatory developments, compliance and trustee responsibilities.
• Supporting clients with scheme funding, investment matters and long-term strategic planning.
• Working alongside colleagues across corporate, employment, financial services and other practice areas on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Managing client relationships and delivering commercially focused, practical advice.
• Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to the continued growth and profile of the pensions practice.
• Supervising and supporting junior members of the team where appropriate.

About You

We are keen to hear from established Pensions Solicitors with at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience who are looking to take the next step in their careers within a leading international law firm.

You will ideally have:

• At least 5 years’ PQE with a strong background in pensions law.
• Experience gained within a recognised pensions practice.
• Excellent technical knowledge across a broad range of pensions matters.
• Experience advising trustees, employers and other pensions stakeholders.
• The ability to manage complex matters and provide clear, commercially minded advice.
• Strong client relationship and communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively alongside colleagues across different practice areas.
• An interest in business development and contributing to the wider success of the team.
• The ambition to continue developing your technical expertise and professional profile.
