In recent weeks I’ve started to see a shift in demand for commercial property solicitors working with my clients based in the North West of England.

These roles vary in seniority but the trend in responsibility requires solicitors to handle a varied commercial property caseload.  This work includes: sales and purchases, commercial leases, portfolio management, real estate finance, overage agreements and property taxation.

High-Quality Family Solicitors

Interestingly there’s been an abundance of high-quality family solicitors who are currently moving between firms in both Manchester and Liverpool as firms have either relocated or refocused the area of law they’re looking to concentrate on going into 2017.

Some fairly significant relocations have resulted in a pool of great candidates looking for new opportunities in and around Manchester, Sheffield and Liverpool.

Immigration Roles

The demand for immigration roles also continues as my small to medium clients have seen visa applications from EU nationals continue to increase and I expect this to carry on into the New Year.

As is normally the case with immigration roles, it’s beneficial to be able to showcase Eastern European language skills – especially within personal injury. I have managed to register and place some great candidates with this particular skill set and I know this is probably going to continue for at least the next six to twelve months.

Next Steps

I expect the demand for commercial property solicitors to continue and the movement between law firms throughout Manchester and Liverpool will most likely leave highly-experienced family solicitors looking for their next career move.
